"Diary of an S&M Romance"

The market is being flooded with real-life-stories concerning S&M. Everyone wants to let the world know, how it is to be humiliated or how a real slave has to behave. I never liked this strict set of rules. In life, one cannot constantly make requests and one should please be so flexible, as to show interest in one's partner - no matter if dominant or submissive - the most important thing is feeling at home in a relationship.

Here is a refreshingly different book about an S&M relationship. Love and happiness can be felt, getting closer to one another instead of only rules. But this does not mean that it is not clarified who actually is wearing the pants. Dollie Llama and ThornDaddy (both internet pseudonyms) get to know each other on the web and start a wild and exciting, tender but hard relationship. Dollie wrote this authentic book. And I, for a long time now, had the impression that this is all about a true story and real feelings. Because sometimes you ask yourself, concerning these supposed real-life-stories, if there had been no exaggerations. Dollie is a far too confident, but still a submissive woman that likes to submit to a man. But her will does not have to be broken. Respect to Daddy who trains his little slut but does not intend to administer senseless punishments to make her miserable. Both partners recognize their desires and complement each other, so that the title "Romance" has been rightly chosen.

I find the little text boxes for notes wonderful that Dollie keeps inserting to explain a S&M-specific term, something that happened earlier or things similar. Who should read "Diary of an S&M Romance"? All that have an interest in S&M, to be bolstered up and to be encouraged to think about one's own relationship and also to encourage change in one's life. This 228 page book was released by PEEP! Press Los Angeles. www.peeppress.com, ISBN 0-9705392-5-8, US$ 14
